Vocational ServicesOther services: Residential | Day Habilitation | Dubuque Based ServicesReferral Packet | Services & Resources DAC's vocational program consists of the following Organizational Employment Services (OES) and Community Employment Services (CES). All OES and CES services are accredited by CARF. Facility-Based Services - These services are designed for individuals who require supervision and structure to increase their production rate, work habits, and work skills. The extent of supervision is determined by the needs of the individual. Enclaves - Enclave employment is designed for individuals who have the necessary skills to perform a variety of work tasks with less supervision than is offered in facility-based services. DAC offers a variety of options for employers in the community to enhance their work force, and has a marketing VIDEO available to explain these services. Supported Employment - This program is designed to offer supported employment opportunities to individuals who have both the desire to work in an integrated work setting and employment abilities for this setting. The two main goals of these services are to give the individuals the opportunity to earn competitive wages and allow these wages to be earned in an integrated work setting. Job coaching may be part of this service. DAC has placed individuals at many work sites in the surrounding communities, including Family Dollar, Spartan, A-DAC Industries, Inc., Mill Valley, Pizza Hut, McDonald's, Dynamic Metals, the US Post Office, and Maquoketa Web Printing. Selective Placement - This service is designed for individuals with good work skill capabilities but who do require a minimal amount of assistance in job seeking skills, work ethics, and support. The main goals of this program are the same as Supported Employment. Job coaching may also be part of this service. Job Skills Program - This is an added service offered to individuals at their request. Individuals receive training in such areas as completing applications, writing resumes, completing job searches, etc. Day Habilitation Program - This is a service provided to individuals who would like to work on life-skill goals such as cooking, cleaning, socialization, community safety, etc. through a CARF-certified program called Community Integration. This service may also be used for individuals who don't have the stamina to work a full day. Day Hab services then allow those individuals to continue to have a full-day structure, while working on both life skills and employment goals. Summer Youth and School Programs - This is a service offered to area schools for individuals with disabilities from 16 to 21 to offer vocational work opportunities during the school year, as well as for two six-week sessions in the summer. They must be enrolled as a student in the Jackson County School System. DAC's organizational employment program also includes a contract to accept all Jackson County recyclables. Recyclables are dropped off at our recycling center by community members and businesses. The employment program employs approximately 25 staff and 100 individuals with disabilities. The goal of the program is to provide paid and unpaid employment training opportunities to students and adults with disabilities.
